Bergen Shipping Dinner

Bergen Shipping Dinner was first held in 2003 and the aim is to arrange an event where you can meet new and old friends within the shipping industry, to strengthen and build new relationships and to enjoy a great time in the beautiful city of Bergen. Bergen Shipbroker Association are the founders of the event and together with Bergen Shipowners Association they are the hosts for the event.

It was the 6th Bergen Shipping Dinner in 2013, and it was 10 years since it all started. “This year we had delegates from 40 different nations, and I think this was our best event yet” says Erik Paulsen.

The first day of the event was a trip to a picturesque island just outside Bergen. Two boats transported about 500 people to the restaurant “Oksen”, and it was a relaxed atmosphere where you could enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way. Gorgeous sunny weather, good entertainment and delicious food made the trip and evening perfect.

On the second day there was a golf tournament held at Meland Golf Club, whilst others arranged to have meetings and lunches in and around Bergen. The main dinner is always in the evening of the second day, held in the concert hall “Grieghallen”. The 1200 guests were met by a lovely decorated room and an orchestra playing in the background. Later in the evening Lydia Hoen Tjore entertained with beautiful singing. All in all a night to remember.
